STAIR AND SAFETY PROFILES

Safety and slip resistance are particularly important with tiled stairs. BLANKE stair and safety profiles are therefore slip resistant and have a firm fit. The stair profiles create a high-quality look and ensure reliable wear protection on every single step. Stair profiles are available in various designs made of aluminium, brass and stainless steel, and either with or without anti-slip plastic insert strips. The step profiles are also available with grooved or stamped stair treads to ensure a non-slip surface. You will also find matching cover caps for the Blanke stair profiles.

We give you an overview of what types of stair profiles and safety profiles there are. You will also learn how you can best use the profiles and what application examples there are for stairs and thresholds.

Why are stair profiles useful?

Stair profiles are particularly suitable for tiled stairs, as these can often be slippery due to the smooth material. This can quickly lead to accidents and, in extreme cases, serious injuries. The profiles ensure safe use of stairs thanks to a non-slip safety insert or a specially profiled or embossed tread surface. They also form a visually beautiful finish to the step or, depending on the color, can clearly indicate the upcoming step.

Stair nosing profiles are used primarily for the attractive design of steps. The profile is used to finish the edge of the stairs. At the same time, the edge of the stairs is protected from flaking and mechanical damage. The structure on the top of the rail has a non-slip effect. However, this type of profile is less slip-resistant than versions with rubber or plastic strips.

Stair tread profile with slip resistance

These step profiles are usually made of aluminum, but some variants are also made of iron. This type of profile differs in the type of slip resistance. There are profiles with an insert strip or those with an embossed metal tread surface.

Profiles with  insert strip made of plasticwhich is used for the < /span>Slip resistance is responsible, offer the best hold. The plastic inserts are grooved and therefore non-slip. The aluminum rail surrounds the removable rubber strip, which can also be replaced for cleaning or if it becomes worn. The rounded impact side and the rubber strips prevent falls and ensure more grip on the tread surface. The profiles are inserted directly during the construction of the stairs and are firmly attached to the surface with tile adhesive.

Depending on the desired design, you can find these variants of the Blanke stair profiles under the following names: BLANKE SIDECOBLANKE SAFETY LEVEL PROFILE or BLANKE STEPLINE (without insert strips).

The installation of stair profiles

The blank stair profiles are inserted directly into the construction of tiled stairs. They are firmly attached to the surface with tile adhesive and are therefore slip-proof.
